She offered nude pictures for virtual pet gifts

IT SEEMS she is willing to exchange real-life nude pictures of herself for something that exists only in cyberspace - items for her online pet.
Is that all her modesty is worth?
The question doesn't seem to bother the Facebook user, who introduces herself as Ling Er, an 18-year-old Singaporean.
Her offer has drawn some flak, even from other netizens who are blase about such shenanigans.
As one of them put it, she may have taken games addiction and online barter to a new low.
The teenager set up a Facebook group last month to get netizens to give her virtual items for her character in the popular game Pet Society on the networking site.
Birthday suit
The name of her group: My birthday suit contest.
To date, some 133 users have signed up as members of the group.
The game, which can be played by Facebook members who download it, allows them to create and play with a virtual pet, buy it items, and pit its 'skills' against those of others.
The object of the game is to acquire as many points as possible.
These points allow players to acquire more virtual items for their pets' homes.
On her Facebook group, Ling Er has appealed to netizens to give her their most valuable Pet Society gifts possible.
She claimed that senders of the best five gifts would get a set of nude pictures of her in return.
They have to do so by 1May.
She has even listed those who have sent the most valuable gifts so far.
The teen wrote on the site: 'I will send you guys pics of me in my birthday suit that I was born with.'
Er, does she mean baby pics, perhaps? Who knows.
But since the group was set up, it has attracted more than 100 members, almost all of them men.
In an e-mail reply to The New Paper, Ling Er said she started playing Pet Society just over two weeks ago, and that she plays the game daily, but for less than an hour each time.
She declined to reveal her real name.
The teen said she had started the Facebook group 'just for fun'.
'Also, I like the thrill and I want more gifts (for my pet),' she added.
Asked if she sensed any danger in sending her nude pictures to total strangers, she replied: 'In this day and age, it is easier to find pictures of this nature online than news updates from around the world.'
And will they really be her own pictures? Well, all we know is that she has already put up some that are supposed to be preview pictures.
She claimed that other local women had taken and distributed nude pictures of themselves online with little consequence.
'They're still doing fine,' she insisted.
However, keeping or distributing obscene pictures is against the law.
Ling Er said she has received virtual gifts from more than 10 people in her group.
These include a virtual lamp, guitar and bath tub.
A member of the Facebook group, who declined to be named, said he had joined the group 'for fun'.
He said he had come across the link to the group from a friend's Facebook profile and decided to join on a whim.
'The name of the group sounded interesting, so I decided to have a look. I don't even play the game,' he said.
He added that he found it odd that anyone would offer nude pictures to strangers for virtual items.
'If the items were real, it would be understandable,' he said.
Student Kevin Chua, 16, who is an avid Pet Society player, added he was surprised when a friend told him about the group that had been set up.
He said: 'It's not something you see every day. I just hope she doesn't get into trouble doing this.'
He added that he knew of people who traded virtual items on Pet Society forums and groups on Facebook, but had never seen somebody offering such a deal before.
'It's quite shocking to see what people would do just to get items for an online game.'
Psychiatrists and counsellors that The New Paper spoke to raised their doubts as to whether the promise would be kept.
Gimmick
Said Mr Charles Lee, senior counsellor at Tanjong Pagar Family Service Centre: 'I think she is using sex as the attraction. We don't know if she will give the photos, it could just be a good gimmick.'
However, Mr Lee and Dr Brian Yeo, a consultant psychiatrist at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, said that the act only served to reflect her lack of modesty.
Said Mr Lee: 'Assuming that she really sends nude photos, it just shows her low self-esteem. How she does not care about her privacy? It shows that her relationship with this pet is ranked above her own privacy.'
Parents we spoke with also expressed their concern.
Mrs Magdalene Wong, 53, a mother of two, felt that it was worrying such things could be happening on the social networking site.
She said: 'It's quite shocking to know that it's being used in such a competitive way. Other people who see it might decide to do something that may be even worse.'

today i heard from dunno tell me regarding about lian hui tell yi zhen about us n i was like BOOM... lol.. damn angry.. this is how a person can do to accuse others when he wanna to get 同情from a gal tat she like.. he say that he have lost a bunch of friendship n the reason he lost them is he always no money go out with them and always reject them when they having any outing.. i was the wth...

State a few reason i am angry with...

1) We always meet up, we not goin to high class restaurant to eat dinner or what, we always having dinner like at the coffee shop whereby i believe eveyone of us who already 22 years old can afford to eat. the most we can spend on eating is only $10. can you pls tell me as u are a poly student now, hw much do you get from your parents for allowance? is just a $10 n you cant afford? like tat tell other gals, those gals will only 同情 you but will n ot go further than tat.. still always say in msn that no gals wan take a look at you.. just simply a $10 you cant afford to pay for your ownself i really dun see any reason you will pay for a gal if you 2 out for dinner.

2)Even we now always say we dun wan call you anymore but if i am the one who inform everyone/organise, i will still same you a sms. to just inform you n let you knw we still treat you as a friend.. but what do i get?? waste my 5cent to sms you n get the ans isalways No. i not free... we dun treat you as a friend right?? ok.. you meant tat.. i will do it!!!

3)The reason is always not saying that you got no money to go out but you always lie and say that i not free, i goin soccer with my friends.. i got to do projects.. i having exam.. oh pls.. are you the only one who study in poly? you not the only one who study in poly n you still dare to say all tis.. i didnt knw that when you have submit your project and you still doing the project.. i didnt knw that you got no money to go out with us but got money to play soccer with your friends.. who is the one who dump us (ite friends) and happily acc your poly friends... nw it has become we dump you.. yea.. i belive after this post whoever saw this will cfm dump u.. n sorry for the curse.. seriously sayin if u still continue like tat you will neva find a gal! desparate!!!!

4)ever since we graduate till now is already 2 years.. wk has already ORD. maggie, nina and YOU!!! is going for you FYP... 2 years.. can you pls tell me you have meet us how any times?? we almost every 2 months or so having gathering after graduate, did u every turn up?? just for wk birthday last year.. although is cancelled.. but you dun even make the effort to come... hey.. wk birthday party is not like no food for you to eat.. is not like you goin to spend a lot of money.. the most you pay is only the transport which is the most $5 and you dun even wan to spend the money.. and you are all the way with your poly friends.. blame who?? i will neva forget what you have say tat day in msn.. you mention that the reason you dun feel like meetin us is cuz you feel that there is gap between us.. no more common topic to talk.. isnt obvious tis is just an excuse.. u dun even meet up with us how would there be topic dun say common topic le.. this is all just bull shit..

5) you wanna go woo that gal or not, it is not my prob.. i dun even care.. but u used us as a reason or equipment to woo a gal, this is totally wrong.. worst is you still accuse us to woo a gal.. this is worst.. and dun forget i hate ppl who accuse me..

nw i then realise hw much anger you have cause us.. good.. tat it.. enough.. in my life there is no more such person..

Today is dear's mother birthday.. ytd we actually have go around n look for the present le.. but really dunno what to buy... as i really neva really bought expensive items de.. n tis is gonna share among 5 ppl... hmm.. we go around tamp after i finish work n finally have decided to buy Guess bag for dear's mum... it is nice.. but i thInk i will neva buy for myself at all.. till nw in my life i only got 2 guess item... one is a small handbag which 2 years ago christmas i was lucky to get that.. n one is my guess wallet which is my karen jie bought for me for my 21st birthday present.. till nw all i buy the things is not more than 20dollars de.. wahaha...


after buying we go to CS the malay food court and makan.. n i saw nina n terence.. lol.. didnt knw tat they will come here de.. lol.. anyway they goin to watch movie later.. haha.. but nwadays got wad to watch leh?? today i finally can go home early but this wun last long de.. cuz tml or wed my dad will be back.. so sian.. but just enjoy the feeling 1st ba.. lol...

reach home my mother tell me about my uncle pass away last thurs then he is alone n lonely.. he didnt close his eye fully. even at the furneral he is crying actually.. after i heard this, my hair stand but another end i was actually crying..

actually when i was very young he actually always bring us around, however when we grow up, we didnt manage to go back often...

i feel more sad is when wed everyone knw that he is already seriously sick but no one of my relative in malaysia wanna bring him to the hospital... we in singapore what can we do... n when he is in hospital n is critical no one acc him in the hospital... he pass away without saying anything... he is unable to talk to who.. early mornin 7 plus then my relative from malaysia called say tat he pass away le.. no one knw what time he pass away.. he left us at 4 plus in the morning n 3 plus he actually called my aunt n wanna talk to her but she neva pick up the call.. i dunno how come got this type of relative.. their own brother is so sick n yet no one acc him.. tat really make me heart pain n sad..

today after work actually wanna go bugis with dear dear de.. we wanna go the new shoppin mall de.. but end up we go meet jess mummy... so long no meet her le.. so just go find her lo... have took a lot of pic of keith also.. he become more n more cute... n have grow up le.. wooo... we go kovan heartmall walk walk... dear dear play with keith also kee laughin n smiling de.. babies really can make a person happy but sometimes really angry also.. haha... have a long chat with mummy n shop around also.. after meetin her i realise that we have took more than 100 pic of keith.. woo.. pic as below can see in my facebook or friendster also...




after tat we go tamp one.. n it was damn crowded... even go in the shop to shop still must queue up sia.. damn lame leh.. lol...

today is a sudden day.. my parents all sudden got to go back to malaysia.. suddenly i haven wake up yet manage to wake up cuz my sister tellin me a shockin news tat is my uncle have pass away this morning.. was shock n feel sudden sadness... but this sadness didnt really last me the whole day.. i dunno why.. suddenly feel tat my relative pass away n feel shock n sad.. but i not tat really sad after all..cuz i neva manage to see him often.. i only manage to see him only once a year or sometimes neva see him.. but the pain was kinda still there.. today i go home early to cook for dear, my sister and me..

This is what i have cook for my sister and dear dear.. though is not a lot but can eat damn full n can eat a lot ppl de leh.. lol.. confident.. haha

today i was on leave cuz i have to go submit my documents to malaysia embassy there to renounce my malaysia citizenship.. reach there around 9.40 but finish n complete the whole things is already 12 pus.. n i am the last one to go off. sian..

meet dear at tamp cs with wee sian.. we actually wanna eat sakae buffet but who knw it start at 3 n we reach there at 2.. end up we just eat without buffet..

after eatin n it was sooo full, dear n ws wanna go lan shop n play.. but as for me i dun really play.. n the comp there damn lag.. end up i log off n sit down there wait for them to play.. n i doze off at there.. dear see me so ke lian n then he say lets go then.. haha.. sorry sorry.. make u all cant play...
